About the club

Pakkalan Palloseura ry is a local football club in central Vantaa with around 800 players – a grassroots club that develops its own players.

Our players range from 3-year-olds to adults, with the main focus on children and young people. We offer everyone who wants to the chance to play football at their own level and to reach their own peak. Pakkalan Palloseura also makes sure that our most talented players have the opportunity to develop at our club and, where appropriate, to move on through partner pathways.

A development club

The aim is equal club activities for everyone involved and developing every player on their own path.

What matters is not whether we are talking about so-called competitive or recreational level. In the big picture, the aim of coaching is always that the individual's skill level and understanding of the game must develop, so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of football more.

The core of our activities lies in quality and a holistic approach. We recognise different player pathways, and the aim is to develop every player on their own path. We are player-centred and inspiring, and the principle of our coaching is that skilful individuals make a good team.

  • We want to offer PPS players the opportunity to take part in high-quality activities, coached by trained coaches and in good facilities.
  • Players who also play other sports have an equal opportunity to train with goals at the club.
  • The club also offers low-threshold recreational activities for children who want something other than competitive football.

History

Pakkalan Palloseura is a relatively young football club. It was registered in autumn 2006, and the club's first event was held on the third Sunday of September 2006. At that time, the Aviapolis area of Vantaa was only just being built and looked very different from today. Today, this area in central Vantaa has grown into one of Vantaa's largest concentrations of jobs, shops and housing.

The club's founding members recognised the opportunities and needs of the new growth area and sowed the seeds of football around Backas Manor right at the start of the area's construction. Since then, the club has grown along with the area and its residents. As it grew, the club moved from the sand pitch at Veromäki School to the Kartanonkoski sports park. Today, the sports park near the “Kartsi” school offers great facilities for all kinds of sport, and the artificial turf pitches are teeming with keen footballers every year from the spring thaw until well into winter and the first snow.

PPS has always wanted to be close to and present in the lives of people, football players and children. Our wish has always been to offer the chance to play football just around the corner, close to home, where people naturally move, spend time and live anyway. We want to be the best for our players! For us, this means keeping the threshold for starting football low, making it possible to start playing at a very young age, and giving every player the chance to develop in their sport at our club, even up to competitive level.
